Illustration Friday - Duet

Spring Duet

I finally decided to create something for Illustration Friday this week.  The topic this week is "Duet" and I had an idea for it right away.  We have a pair of cardinals that have been serenading us for the past week from their comfy nest somewhere in one of our backyard trees.  So I painted the scene, added a few flower brads and a printed transparency frame to highlight the couple and complete.  There is a little spot in my hallway that could use a touch of spring so I need to find a frame for it.

The kids have been getting into the creative play lately too.  Both of them have brought home some cute projects from school this week.  Little boo-girl made a mask for Fat Tuesday and was able to bring it home yesterday.  She added some extra glitter and bling from my stash to make it "sparkly-er and bling-y-er" according to her.  Boy-o also brought home a cute project made with pasta.  It is the life cycle of a butterfly from egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, to butterfly.  Very creative idea.
